Show Business: Architectural Digest Design Show
Snowstorms, power outages and mass transit issues couldn’t stop us! Last week, our determined Design NJ team made their way to the Architectural Digest Design Show at Piers 92 and 94 in New York City. We’re proud to be a media sponsor of this event, which always features cutting edge products and the latest design trends. But it’s not just informative, it’s also fun. We had such a good time we wanted to share some of our day with you.
There were models….
…….and a gravity-defying stovetop display.
There were snacks for the press corps! (Much appreciated after the post-blizzard slog to NYC.)
There were carefully coordinated fridges…..
……..and a “smart” fridge.
The sink with the customized message left us feeling inspired….
And so did the donuts and prosecco!
Dining By Design
Running concurrently with the AD Design Show was the Dining By Design event, created by DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting Aids). Dining By Design features gathering spaces created by designers from around the world, who showcase their talents for a worthy cause. Here are just a few of the gorgeous table- and room-scapes that were on display.
Designer Alessandra Branca worked with Benjamin Moore, incorporating the paint manufacturer’s color of the year, “Caliente” to craft this bold, Moroccan-inspired space.
Architectural firm Gensler, furniture manufacturer Knoll and furniture dealer EvensonBest joined forces to set a scene of 1,000 origami cranes as a symbol of hope and healing.
Luxe Interiors + Design and Wesley Moon tucked a colorful, spring-inspired tableau into a tent-like space.
One Kings Lane and the New York Times partnered to compose a lush setting suitable for an al fresco meal.
