Spring Lake Kitchen Tour

It was a fabulous day to tour fabulous homes! On October 21st, eight Spring Lake homeowners opened their doors to guests who enjoyed great design and great food. Our readers tell us that one of their favorite things about these tours is the design ideas they get—decorative strategies they may not have thought of before, that they’d like to try in their own homes. Here are just a few of the design elements on view that day.

  • The glorious autumn weather provided the perfect backdrop for the glorious homes on the tour.

  • A multi-layered, multi-textured ceiling, paired with a show-stopping chandelier, amps up the drama.

  • A rain barrel is a classic idea that can be recreated for our modern, eco-aware times.

     

  • A Dutch door adds interest when making an entrance.

     

  • Windows outlined in black give character to a home’s façade.

     

  • Rough-hewn beams + stained glass windows + built-ins work beautifully together.

     

  • Have fun with design in the mudroom. In this case, a whimsical water fountain and family photos are delightful additions.
