Oyster Point Hotel Gallery Exhibition — Kevin Hinkle/Ellen Martin: Fusions

Ellen Martin and Kevin Hinkle present “Fusions,” an exhibit of their merged photographs, at The Oyster Point Hotel.
Ellen Martin is an iPhone photographer and curator. Kevin Hinkle is a photographer and digital artist. They started working together in 2018, beginning with images inspired by Ms. Martin’s “Abandoned” photographic series. As a curator, Ellen admired Kevin’s photographic fusions and exhibited them in 2018 and 2020. Eventually, she asked Mr. Hinkle if he would like to use her photographs as the basis for his fusion technique. He agreed.
In June 2025, the team created a new series of photographs. Photos of flowers by both Kevin Hinkle and Ellen Martin were layered with geometric shapes. According to the pair, “Governed by laws, nature is filled with countless examples of geometric forms, ranging from snowflake fractals to seashell spirals to the radial symmetry of flowers. Despite this, nature often seems unpredictable. By layering geometric shapes over flowers, we impose form on what appears chaotic while simultaneously drawing attention to the underlying order.”
The exhibit will open with a gala cocktail reception on Friday, October 3rd, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and will run through Monday, October 27th, 2025. Entry is free, and everyone is invited.
